EGR was also taken off in 2001. so there was a difference. As for the 94 LT1 being the best, i believe that this is stated because 94 was the most selling 4th generation camaro, with over 110,000 units sold. So maybe it is just common.

1994 had the most Z28's built of any 4th gen year.
1993 had the highest percentage of Z28s of all 4th gens.
2001 had the lowest percentage of Z28s of all 4th gens.
The total number of 4th gens produced was lower than any other generation of f-body.

whoever said the 1993 camaro Z28 is best is sadly mistaken. I've heard those cars had a lot of problems that were fixed for the 94 year. MAF comes to mind but can't remember what else..

Havent' seen the hardened pushrods mentioned yet, I think those were on 95s...as for the LS1...the cam revisions gave it more low end torque and more horsepower...I don't know what was milder about it....

I think most people would argue that 95 cars are the "best" for hotrodding as they have OBD1, vented opti and hardened pushrods. Although i'm not sure if all 95's had the better pushrods? Anyone?
BTW. I'm curious if anyone has a car like mine.
I have a Canadian 95 single cat M6. It's not a 1LE, as i've got t-tops. However, it's some kind of factory stripper. I've got no AC, and only have a tape deck, roll windows and no pwr trunk release, base cloth seats. Haven't weighed it, but figure it's got to be one of the lightest variations of the 95. One of kind?
Anyone else with a factory stripper?
Cheers Roman

I just picked up my Z about a month ago. One reason I got a 95 was b/c the OPTI was vented. I was told by many people that do what ever you can to stay away from the unvented OPTI. So I would say that any Z 95 and after would be the best.

1- MAF
2- vented opti
3- OBDI

There are many differences from 93, to 94 but not many that make them inferior in any way to the rest.
There weren't any issues I can think of that the 94 had to address for the 93.
There were changes yes, but were they to address issues??
For instance: Moving the fuel rail crossover tube from the back of the intake to the front... Was this an "Issue" addressed?
Or just a change?
Or Moving the EGR port on the passenger side header to the front vs the back for a 93.. Was this an issue?
A 93 is no less reliable than any other year, and has all the usual issues of the rest of the crowd, well besides a MAF crapping out

I think the 94 camaro is the best because the convertible and t-top camaro returned.it got the 4l60e transmission which replaced the 4l60.It also got an optional keyless entry system, better sound system, late 94 monochrmatic roof treatment/mine has it,sequential fuel injection which was a huge improve ment over multi-port.It gave the camaro a smoother idle and also helped reduce emissions. Not so great improvement=CAGS
