1994 LT1 was the best Year
Hey I've heard a lot of people say that the 1994 Z28 was the best year of our generation. The closest answer as to why was something about having the highest power:weight ratio? Anyone know more about that or why they say it is the best year?

dont listen to them
1994's dont make any more power than others. and they dont weigh any less as a whole. and at a .1 of a sec for every hundred lbs. they would have to be pretty light to give that statement some ground.
all LT1's are virtually the same and all LS1's are virtually the same. 10-15 FW HP here and there difference but nothing to write home about.
EDIT: except for the 93's, SPEED DENSITY RULES!

some of you are misinformed about the LS1 engine...in 2001 on the camaro and firebird carrying that engine, got the LS6 intake manifold, which was good for another 10 or so horse. EGR was also taken off in 2001. so there was a difference. As for the 94 LT1 being the best, i believe that this is stated because 94 was the most selling 4th generation camaro, with over 110,000 units sold. So maybe it is just common.

The debate usually ends up between 93 and 95.
I swear it isn't because of the sig
I would think that 95 has the more going for it than 93 due to vented opti, Heated O2s, and a programmable computer vs. chip burning in the 93.
BUT My vote for Best 93 - 97 V8 4th gen has to go to the 97 LT4 cars

to my knowledge(having a 2001 ss for a short time) they were rated a little higher then 2000 LS!'a and i'm not talking about the "ram air" of the ss hood. When the LS1 came out they rated it at 310 rwhp, and upped it to 320 shortly after(not sure of the year) but in 2001, it got bumped to 330, to my knowledge, i could be wrong. As for the cam swap, ur right, i forgot about that, thanks for addint that!

Then again they were always underated, so... They could bump the numbers 10 - 20 hp and really not have to justify the numbers.
Wasn't the Pre 03' Cobras rated at like 320 Hp? They might have done this to hold the numbers above Ford's...
