fule pump

i just chaged fule pump on my 95 z28 camaro when took it for a drive got home and heard a hissing sound when i removedte gas cap head alot of air coming out of the tank touched thetop of the gas tank and it was really hot any know know y if any one can help

Are you sure you have the correct pump? Are you sure you have the correct voltage at the pump? Have you checked the pressure?

Sounds like the new pump may be overheating the fuel causing excessive vaporization, and pressure in the tank.

how would i chk the pressure and as far as the pump thats the i ws given at autozone thnks forthe quick reply apprecite it

You attach a fuel pressure test gauge to the Schrader valve on the hard line that connects to the back of the passenger side fuel rail.

So your old fuel pump was overheating.... and now there is evidence that your new fuel pump is overheating? Is that correct?

But you haven't checked the fuel pressure. Have you checked the voltage available at the fuel pump harness connector over the rear axle?
