Yes. Run a length 12 or 14 ga wire from a terminal in the red plastic ”+" box near the battery, to the prime connector. Wouldn't hurt to put a 20-amp inline fuse in the circuit.

Does the fuel level gauge in the dash work correctly?

Re: Fuel pump prime comnector

Yes . The gauge is good. I went on and pulled put the fuel pump from the trunk. Just to find out my fuel tank is rusted from old fuel. I guess the guy lied to me saying the car has been sitting for 2 years. More like 10. I dropped the tank. And boy was that a pain in the A##.

Re: Fuel pump prime comnector

Instead of dropping the tank, you may want to consider this in case you have any more issues with the pump....

https://www.camaroz28.com/forums/fue...th-gen-619463/

I have done this along with many, many others. Saves a lot of time and work after it is done !

I cut my opening so I have access to the disconnect fittings, and used a 12" x 18" piece of sheetmetal for my cover.

Re: Fuel pump prime comnector

I did cut the trap door out. Pulled the fuel pump out. Just to find out my fuel tank was full of rust and all kinds of gunky stuff in there. So thats why idropped the tank to get it cleaned out. I found a local muffler shop that will cut it open clean it out for me and weld it back together all for 100$.

Re: Fuel pump prime comnector

I guess I should have read your post more carefully.

Just for the heck of it I went to RockAuto website....They have a new fuel tank from Spectra #GM2799C or #10269093 for around $160 and roughly $15 more for shipping.

Those numbers are for a 1995 Z28
