!!!!!!97 camaro running problems!!!!!!!!
ok, so heres the story....
i have a 97 z28 a4 convert..... 1850001 on body, 30k on engine, 5k on trans, rear, suspention, etc. done by myself..
it has been acting wierd for the past 2 months, it wouldnt want to start sometimes, just cranked and cranked. it also once i got it running would sometimes bogg out i guess(it would have no power and sputter like hell!), but if i shut it off for a min it would start right back up and be fine for a couple of days, and rarely die while driving. also if i floored it , it would begin to lose power at 5000rpm...
so i replaced fuel filter and pump yesterday, its got air , and new cap and rotor. new plugs wires.....it starts like a champ now , when i floor it its pulls through to the redline (awesome!!!!!! i can race again).......but still boggs out once in awhile and shut off once while driving.
also if it helps, no egr or air. no check engine light and for some reason this only happens when the coolent level light is on, probly just a coincidence.....
lemme know what u think

Re: !!!!!!97 camaro running problems!!!!!!!!
Have you scanned it for codes? An intermittent problem with the low resolution cam position signal from the Opti will set a code, and shut down the fuel system. This code does not turn on the SES light. See if you have P1371 as a stored code after a bog/shutdown.

If it was an OBD-II scanner, it should be able to read the codes. Did you confirm the scanner connected with the PCM? If the fuse for the cig lighter is blown, the scanner won't connect.

Re: !!!!!!97 camaro running problems!!!!!!!!
A test with a pressure gauge would tell you if you have low pressure. Yes, a faulty FPR can cause low pressure, but why guess when taking a measurement will tell you if low pressure is the problem.

Re: !!!!!!97 camaro running problems!!!!!!!!
How did you test it?
Here is the correct way to test it. This thread will show all the different ways to make sure all the parts of the fuel system are functioning correctly.
