1997 LT1 random misfire help.
I replace the driver side motor mount on my 1997 Z28 with a polyurethane and had to remove the exhaust manifold. I got everything back together and I had a misfire on cylinder 7. I puled the spark plug wire off #7 and put some dielectric grease on both sides of the wire and the misfire on cylinder 7 was gone.
Now I have a random misfire!
What gives what should I look for that would cause the random misfire?
Then only thing I can think of is maybe I knocked off the vacuum line to the Opti-Spark and that's causing the random misfire?
Let me know what you think.
Thanks,

Re: 1997 LT1 random misfire help.
So today I started up the car and was going to drive it around the block a little and It ran for about 4 minutes and died.
I check for fuel presser and nothing the pump is dead. I confirmed it by putting +12v to the prime connector and not a sound or any presser.
So could the dying fuel pump be the cause of my random misfire?
Because I'm thinking that was the cause of it.
