1991 5.0L cranks but no start
I put a new signal swithch in and after putting it all back together it started for about 1 second and quit. Now it cranks but won't start.
I have checked spark and it is good. I checked the VATS and get the correct resistance at the connection below the steering column so the computer should be reading this correctly.
The fuel pump relay is not being triggered when the key is turned on. If I jumper a hot wire to the relay plug, the fuel pump runs but the car still won't start so I assume the computer isn't triggering the injectors.
I pulled the steering column apart again and don't see any pinched wires.
The VATS is the only thing I can think of that would suddenly turn the fuel off like this. I can't see the signal switch affecting it and that is the only thing replaced.

Re: 1991 5.0L cranks but no start
I tested the injectors and they aren't firing.
I disconnected the VATS at the plug below the steering column and the starter is disabled, won't engage. Reconnected the VATS and it turns over again, but no start. This would make me believe the VATS is working.
The battery cable has been disconnected and reconnected a few times while working on the steering column.

Found it.
There is a fuse under the hood by the battery in a small black box with an orange wire coming off of it. I'd love to get ahold of the genius that thought a lone remote fuse was a good idea!
