02 Z28 Starting and Electrical Issue
Hi All,
My car has always had an issue while starting - get in, turn key immediately and the engine turns over but will not fire. Turn ignition off, turns key again and car fires instantly.
this has been ok but now I have another problem:
1. Turn key - engine fires but immediately dies (read this could be VATS but security light is off before the car fires)
2. After firing and dying a couple of times, there is a loud click and all the electrics go off (can't even lock the door with button on the door, gauges stay as they were when the power was cut).
Now I did take the main relays out and give them a clean and put them back in then had the above 2 steps again.
Do I replace the relays? could it be more serious?

Boy this forum is not what it use to be seems no one wants to help or even log on, I've got a 1998 I just bought with starting problems and was hoping to get help here as you are also but I don't see anyone posting to help you. I hope you figured it out by now. good luck

Re: 02 Z28 Starting and Electrical Issue
"Bungle" posted once, after being a member for 7 years, came back a day or two later and never returned since early September. Unfortunately we have a lot of that - first post, people try and help, but the person never comes back to see if there was a response. Discourages people from helping out, when they put a lot of effort into trying to help, and the person who asked never comes back to read the answer, or does not acknowledge the answer, or respond to any questions that may have been asked.
But you are right... predominate coverage is the LT1 vehicles.... not a lot of LS1 owners. But there are a few, and if you are patient, and come back and acknowledge the response, it is possible to get help.
IF you want, provide the details of your problem, and let's see what happens.
