This summer I have changed the headers to Kooks race 1 7/8 with a custom ORY (3 inch).

I was seeing 15#'s of boost on a cold day with this setup before (on a hot summer day more like 13.5#'s). I noticed that with a previous combo, that air filter size, along with what type of air inlet between the air filter and blower was crutial. Along with the headers, I also moved the air filter from inside the fender, to a lower location near the air dam for the radiator. I also fabbed up an air scoop to direct air towards the filter.

In short I used to have the air filter tucked away. Now I have it open to more air, and the air scoop should direct air from the ground right at the filter. I am not sure what kind of difference boost wise this will make, but I am hoping a few pounds at least.

I still have a good 300 miles left to break in on the new clutch before I can go WOT and find out.

I started this thread for research purposes for others more than anything. I will continue to update with the results of the WOT with the different filter location and air dam.
