Meth users: What is you timing curve??

What timing are you meth guys using?

I'm at
4000 26
4500 25
5000 24
5500 23
6000 23
6500 23

of *commanded* timing in LT1 Edit so keep in mind the PCM will add a few degrees as well. My knock sensors are tuned out due to false knock issues but I think I can bring up the timing some.

Re: Meth users: What is you timing curve??

Anyone??

After doing some searching it seems the accepted norm is 24-26 degrees. No one said whether this is on or off the meth. One guy was running up to 34 degrees on the meth. That seems pretty high to me.

I'm just curious if I have some room to add more timing. Maybe 26-28.

If I still had my old LT1 PCM I would check (stalled in the middle of my 24x conversion ) but I think peak timing was 19-20 with a mix of 93/110 (10 gallons 93, 4 gallons 110 unleaded) and 70/30 meth mix at 17 psi.

Interesting.

I should note this is on a forged bottom end at 14psi.

Remember it is most likely to knock at peak torque - or peak cyl pressure.

I would almost swap your curve. You can usually add timing back in after peak torque.

My setup hasn't run in a while but I don't remember making much more power by going very far past 20 degrees. I would start there for safety and get on a dyno to see what it really likes.

Depends on how efficient your intercooler is at keeping the air cool (and how hot it is outside). If your IATs aren't much above ambient then it's not going to be a large bump. If your IATs are pushing 100+ above ambient then you'll see good results.

I ran an Alchy control kit for years. Don't think they're in business anymore. People have had good results with Snow Performance though.
