want 9:1 or 9.5:1 compression
bigger intake ones sacrifice a lil chamber volume..and vice versa.. which is better way to go

App... 97SS F1A. 383. MM6. AFR heads. 54cc/ 195cc intake vol. 28cc JE dish pistons/ 6" stroke 3.75 crank stroke. 9.5:1 comp. static.
Heads are ported. Air flow is top priority. Long tube headers are a big help. The shorts I had are very restrictive.
I'm no expert on this, so, this is my app. Bypass valve design is critical to making boost. I also am a fan of high port velosity.
Converted to a Motown 4150 single plane intake.
