BOV question

Hey guys I'm getting a D1SC for my 97 SS and I want to know if I can use a 50mm BOV designed for use on a turbo setup on the supercharger setup, don't want to pay $275 for Procharger's "race" BOV, thanks?

Re: BOV question

Yes, they are a large price. I purchased (2) Bosch alum BOV, or, Bypass valves. I run two with an F1a Procharger. I run my MAF next to the air filter, so, I call them a bypass since the discharge must be re-introduced to the intake cycle (after the MAF).

I did have to re-cal the Bosch valve(s) springs for a 18 psi trigger point (zero vac assist). I paid $103 dollar over the inter_tubes. Got some new compression springs from Enco and cut them to calibrate for the 18psi.

I did an excel sheet to calculate the spring rate. Measured the force/ deflection rate and cut coils to match needed spring rate.

It can be done! B.
