What is the highest horsepower OEM naturally aspirated V6 made?

I'm talking about like completely stock OEM V6 in a standard production vehicle.

I know the Acura RL has a 3.5L V6 w/ 300 hp @ 260tq

The IS350 that's coming out in a few more months is going to have "300+ hp and 275+ tq" according to the official manufacturer press release. So if the + ends up being even a couple hp more than they would have the crown as far as I know.

I'm sure I might be missing something, like some sort of semi-exotic small sports car with a high output V6?

Nissan's VQ should be up there.

Good point... I think the latest itteration for 2005 was up from 280 to 298.

Interestingly enough, the RL, IS350, and G35 all use 3.5L V6s and all have about 300 horses, but all do it in relatively unique ways.

300 is the max right now (that I know of)

at GM 275hp/275tq is the most for a 6 cyl. from the 4.2L I6.

I want to see a 300HP 3.8L HF V6 in the Caddy lineup.

That's what 12+ years of technology will do.

The LT1 was fine if you compare it to what everything else was putting out at that time.

Yea, just makes me feel like less of a man to know that the LT1 I'm putting together won't be able to hold up to one of those V6s. Guess I'll need to get a ***** enlargement.

Yeah I knew it would be something like that... a smaller super expensive semi-exotic sports car.

I'd be interested to read up on that motor so see how they managed that kind of output.

Technically flat 6 and I6 don't count for my question since I said V6... but I really meant 6-cyl of any sort.

Re: What is the highest horsepower OEM naturally aspirated V6 made?

Nissan's 350Z Anniversary Edition Coupe is putting out the best numbers right now 300HP/274TQ with Acura's RL 300/260 close behind. Makes all stock F-Bodies look bad considering it is using 2.2L less than our cars, which is an entire engine in some cars

I am not sure why GM hasn't caught up to Japan yet. If they would just take the time and money to tune the 3.8Ls a little more it would be golden. Or instead of buying bad V6s from the Chinese, they could develop a quality one, again if they make the effort and put their hearts into it.

Germany is always ahead of everyone else, but they have perfected the 6 cylinder. And I don't ever expect a Porsche or BMW-like high end 6 cylinder to be affordable

Because GM has V8's.

Most japanese companies have few if any V8 engine choices outside of their truck lines.

Even Infinity has V6's that at the fly wheel are putting out more power than LT1
