I'll be the first to admit that it took me a while to get that... My sense of humor is non-existent lately. I reread my post a hundred times thinking "where the heck did I mention my kitchen??"
I will never buy another HP product if I can avoid it. Also, I will never spend another cent in Future Shop/Best Buy so long as I draw breath

HP doesn't make anything, they just brand it. Some HP computers are different companies than others so unless you just hate their service, I wouldn't write them off.

Trust me, the service I've received, or rather, haven't, is what has driven me away. Example, at work, our office printer was a piece of crap. We sent it back and forth to HP 8 times, no word of a lie. They refused to do anything unless we provided them with a credit card number. My mistake was offering mine the first time thinking that I've only authorized its use once. My boss, being a very aggressive, abusive prick, demanded I do whatever it takes to get the piece of crap fixed. I guess they didn't see it that way and sent us a nice letter saying they haven't received the printer on about the 6th attempt, when in fact they did, and returned the shipment. I was on the hook for $300+, charged to my card without my permission, because one of my co-workers said "Yes, just use the same billing information". I attempted a chargeback and for whatever reason, it was declined. And to make matters worse, my boss refused to cover the cost I incurred and then 'lost' the receipt.

When you buy a truck brand new and 2 1/2 years later it catches fire sitting in the driveway (electric fire) while still under warranty, the least you could do is PRETEND to give a crap about your customer. But when you:
1) Don't investigate it.
2) Don't take responsibility for it
3) Don't provide rental
4) Don't return any of the customers emails and phone calls
5) Make the customer go through insurance
6) Don't attempt to answer of the insurances contact attempts
...one has to seriously question going back to that company for your auto needs.
Most dependable and long lasting my ass.

Dyson. $400 for a vacuum that works when it feels like it. Naturally, it was fine for the first 2 years while it was still under warranty. As soon as it was 2 years and 1 day old it started. The brushes don't stay down on the "carpet" setting so it doesn't pick up crap. I used to be able to adjust the setting when I turned the thing on and it would stay that way but now it won't stay at all. Biggest waste of $400 ever. I would rather spend $150 on a new vacuum every 2 years.
Odd mine has been the best vacuum I've ever owned. I love mine.
I'm not really ready to swear off anyone currently but then again I've been out of the US for a while.

could it have been a beard hair? mine fall out and look like pubes sometimes.
Not that a beard hair isn't equally gross or anything.

Depending on the size of the company its not your bosses call, but rather company policy that should dictate your refund. Sound like he's a real a-shole and you should leave if you have not already.
