Re: Seal dogs razor sharp teeth made from titanium

I didn't read the entire article, but it is entirely possible. I've known a few dogs that were fence biters and broke their canines. The vet replaced them with titanium ones. Pretty fierce..

Yup; Loyal, tough, smart animals.

I've seen the TI fangs before on dogs; it's crazy the first time you see it.

^ Just about to post that.

I'll share this one:

And this one:

This is very cool, and something I never knew before. Apparently it's somewhat common for a police/military dog's canines to become worn down, or broken, so they're capped with titanium.

Learn something new everyday. Thanks for sharing.

Very cool. Razor sharp is an innacurate description, though.

Re: Seal dogs razor sharp teeth made from titanium

It was my understanding that they only replaced broke teeth with titanium... Its something they have be doing since Vietnam, but its cool to see that they are using it as a preventative meethood to keep the teeth from breaking.

must cost a ton to get done, other wise there would be a lot less retired Schuetzen hound dogs out there...

Yeah. The titanium teeth are actually less effective because they're more likely to come out during a biting.
