This week I picked up a $199 kindle fire. Other guy at work just got a $199 Blackberry playbook.
Trying to decide what one is better.
I may be leaning towards the playbook.
1. front and rear camera (kindle = no cameras)
2. physical volume buttons (kindle = on screen buttons)
3. tether internet from blackberry phone at no extra charge (kindle = wifi only)
4. 16gb (kindle = 5gb)
5. HDMI output (kindle = no output)
Also new OS 2.0 comes out soon and will alow android apps to be bought through the blackberry app store.
Should I return my kindle fire for a playbook?

The thing is if you continue to analyze it over and over you'll convince yourself that the grass is greener. Do you like the Kindle? Does it do what you want/need it to do? If so keep it, if not take it back and try the Playbook. Personally I wouldn't buy anything from RIM, mostly at this point because I expect a short life expectancy from them at this point. The Fire is a good tablet, and you should get a good life out of it. Amazon/Kindle isn't going anywhere.

I do like the kindle.
But more onboard storage (16gb vs 5gb) and free bluetooth connected internet through my phone is what's pushing me to the playbook.
The other items (physical volume buttons, HDMI out, and camera) are jsut a nice extra.
Even if RIM is dead, the playbook will still do what I need it to. Light web surf, movie watching, and occasional ebook reading.
