Left speakers not working on 2007 Silverado.

The left speakers are not working on my 2007 Silverado. When you hit t big bump or sometimes slam the door, they come on then fail again. Clearly sounds like a loose connection somewhere.

Anyone know how to get the dash panel off around the radio? I dont see any screws and I dont want to start breaking tabs trying to figure it out. Hopefully its a connection on the back of the radio.

Why not take it in and have the dealership fix it? That way if they break a tab they replace that too...

This would lead me to believe that you need you pull off the door panel and verify the connection is good on the speaker. Find the bottom of the panel on the door, use a standard screw driver to pry it and pull with your fingers.

Otherwise, the plastic housing around the radio and vents pulls off, and the screws are behind that to pull the deck out. Very unlikely the issue is there, if it was you would be having other problems.

No longer under warranty or I would. I am not prepared to take it in the @ss by the cutthroat dealers for a possible loose connection.

I dont think its the speakers because both left speakers are out at the same time. Still thinking its behind the radio unless there is a separate amplifier.

I wouldn't either, I just figured it might still be under warranty. Is it only a 3/36 bumper to bumper and a 5/100 powertrain?

I was led to the door because you said when you slam the door it causes or fixes the problem. That wouldn't change anything with the deck.

If you are going to rule out suggestions then I don't know why you would ask for help.

Nothing is ruled out and the suggestions are welcomed. I am simply troubleshooting to find the most likely culprit then go there first. I also said that a hitting a bump would cause it to briefly work then fail just like a slam of the door. Since both left doors are out together, it has to be at a location where maybe those 4 wires share a common connection unless both speakers are blown up. Possible but not likely.

Take it to the dealership. There's an issue with the electronics in the doors on 07-09 (assuming yours is not a classic body style). Some work, some don't. As far as I know, it's a recall and replaced for free. If it's not a recall, if you bitch enough, they'll still likely replace it for free unless they wanna be dicks.

Start with the easiest speaker to get to that is not working. This will help pinpoint the problem. Disconnecting and reconnecting the speaker that is out will tell you if you're correct or not. If it makes you feel better, my 99 did the same thing in the rear and then went away over time and still works. Albeit lousy OEM speakers that will some day be replaced.

As was noted before, slamming a door is not likely to shake a connection at the radio.
