Deodorant?

I've been hearing about aluminum in deodorant being harmful to the nervous system. Does anyone have any opinions on this and if you use any "non aluminum" deodorant, what do you use?

Re: Deodorant?

The aluminum comes in antiperspirant. Deodorant is fine.

Re: Deodorant?

Yes, they say it can be linked to cancer and nervous system damage.

Aluminium zirconium tetrachlorohydrex gly - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

I've been using deodorants with it for years, and look how I turned out! I can't comment on alternatives, but my guess would be that they're less effective if you sweat heavy.

Re: Deodorant?

Deodorant does not keep you from perspiring.

Deodorant masks the odor of your perspiring.

I use Tom's since it's U.S. made and I always wear undershirts

So basically, using deodorant makes you like the same sex? Christ, wait until the conservatives hear about this.

You know I am just busting your balls, right?

Recent articles about studies done say there is no link. This one is recent and posted on WebMD. Again, this is for antiperspirants.

Re: Deodorant?

You can just inject your sweat glands with botox to reduce sweating.

Re: Deodorant?

I've heard about the cancer thing from multiple sources (not saying it's credible, just saying multiple) and since I don't really need anti-perspirant I don't use it. I just use regular deodorant from the major company's and I'm fine.

Re: Deodorant?

Oh, and for the record, I generally use Old Spice anti-perspirant. I tend to sweat under my arms a decent amount... although it seems to have gone down in the past few months. Maybe next time I buy something I'll buy regular deoderant and see how it works. Probably too late though, I may already have cancer.

Re: Deodorant?

I use Degree deodorant (deodorant only...not anti-persperant). The package indicates some kind of time release property. I do notice a difference in persperation, now that I don't use anti-persperants any longer. But I do a fair amount of exercising, and while I do sweat more, if I put enough deodorant on in the morning, I do not smell bad at the end of the day. Plus, the Degree I bought is around half price of the anti persperants. I will continue to buy deodorant only.

Re: Deodorant?

EDIT: I wear antiperspirants. Degree IIRC.

I sweat way to much in the summer to even think about just deodorant.

Re: Deodorant?

I use the Thai deodorant stone. Has Alum but no aluminum (big difference).
