5 Days 'till Freedom!

I am going to be a US Army Soldier for only 5 more days!

Finally, after 11 years of service that took me to South Korea, Japan, Djibouti, Qatar, Germany, Louisiana, Georgia, Maryland and Texas, I won't have to wear BDU's / ACU's ever again... Anyone in Northern Virginia got a job for me?

So what's next?

Federal, state, county, city law enforcement? You've got to put that K9 handler experience to good use.

I'm in NoVa but I have no job for you. Unless you want to bring a package back from Columbia for me. . .

To be honest, I really don't want to be law enforcment anymore...If the right dog job comes around, I might jump on that one, but for now, I want something where I won't get shot at!

Understood.

It's hard to quit though, like smoking. My money says 6 months won't pass before you're doing it again in the civilian world.

Congrats and thanks for your service.

I got out of the Air Force after 4 years in 10/2006. May I suggest looking at the railroads for a job? I had 2 job offers to choose from when I got out (NS and Amtrak), and an interview scheduled with another railroad (CSX) that I declined because I accepted the offer back home. The railroads love us x-military people.

If you need any help or want info contact me at heracles87@yahoo.com.

Thank you for thanking me and not telling me I'm about to give my life for a stupid reason.

A true soldier does not care for why he fights, but because he has been ordered into battle.

They can, but they have 5 days to do it. My 8 yr commitment has been fulfilled. For those who don't know....you may think you are signing up for 2-3 or however many years, but in reality they have you for 8. You get off active duty before 8 years and they can call you back at any time. Good old IRR...Me, I've done 11, so I'm free and clear...
Now, hopefully you haven't just jinxed us...
