1800 flowers isn't a flower shop. They contact local florists to build your flowers for you. Since they don't need to earn you business (the local guys), they use the cheapest items they can for the biggest profit.
Next time, just call the local guys first, as it will be cheaper and look better.

Yeah I almost did that but didn't like the arrangements they had on their sites. I'd go in person, but she's back in Florida right now so that wasn't possible.
everytime I would use them in the past something was wrong with it. I always go to a local shop now. but then again I hate ordering flowers and rarely do it anyway.
I have a hard time ordering something that costs that much to just sit there and die in a week.
Proflowers is the absolutely best when it comes to ordering flowers. The flowers always look great and they can deliver overnight. I've used them dozens of times and only twice have the flowers not lasted two weeks (and then they replaced them AND refunded part of my purchase price).
i work for a delivery company and we mainly deliver flowers.... yes 800-flowers is the absolute worst flowers money can by. we pick up all of their packages from their warehouse, where the flowers already look like ****. in some places they put their name on local florist shops and those actually turn out good.. but when you get something like what you got, they come from a warehouse where no1 cares about how it looks.

I used them once and used paypal to pay for it...The flowers got "stuck" in a snowstorm back east, and were not delivered on time. They don't always use a local shop apparently. I was pissed and demanded a refund. They would not refund the money, so I did a chargeback through paypal and they never disputed it. Got my money back! So maybe if anyone does use them pay for it with paypal.

Yeah, looking at ProFlowers' site, I probably should have gone with them. I liked the idea of having them hand-delivered, but oh well. Live and learn. I sent 1800Flowers a strongly-worded letter; if I don't hear back in a day or so, I'll give them a call.
