Hello everyone,

I recently bought a 96 Z28 with a rebuilt lt4 and t56. I have put about a grand into it with a new fuel pump, opti, and some other things. One of the biggest problems I am having is it will not go into 6th gear. When I bought it the guy said he had someone install a new hurst short throw and now it wont go into 6th, it just stops. I am fairly new to the t56 so I dont know if it just needs to be looked at or fully replaced. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks

Also, I need to replace or repair the front bucket seats, Would it be easier to just have them re upholstered or fully replace with maybe Trans Am seats or something like that.

Thanks Again

Just bought a new GMMG for $60. I was visiting a local wreaking yard and they were unloading new stock. The unloaded a 2001 Z28 and I looked at it before they had a chance to go over it. Needless to say its paid for already and they have no clue what it is they sold because they haven't inventoried the car yet.

Also found a 96 Trans AM with what apears to be the G2 package. Rear control arms have bolt in bracing, throttle body has a airfoil in it and the G2 performance plaque on it. I bought the airfoil and plaque. Should I have got the t-body? And is there any programming diff in the ECM from a Trans AM and One thats equiped with the G2 package?

the passenger side of my y pipe hangs a couple of inches lower than the left side, and quite a bit lower than the rest of the car around there. It's been that way since i bought the car. I was just wondering if that's normal, and if an aftermarket y pipe would do the same. I'm planning to lower my car something like 1"-1.5", and while its not a daily driver, I'm worried that ground clearance could become an issue.

So this weekend I yanked off my old AC compressor because it was grinding real bad but AC still worked.

I took the old one to advancedauto without even thinking, didn't bother to really look at it or check it out before returning it. I'm in the process of installing the new one and I cant help but feel like something is missing. Here's a pic of the back of it...

At this point I've traced my problem to my radiator fans not turning on. After replacing my radiator, water pump, temp sensor, and all of the relays, I am still overheating. My fans aren't coming on at all. I have jumped them with a 12v source and both operate properly. I have bled and refilled coolant properly as well, even tried resetting my pcm. This is a 95 z28 by the way. I know I can wire a switch from shoebox's site but I'd rather the stock operations function properly. The only thing I can think of is maybe the heater core being blocked can cause a coolant flow issue, but the temp sensor should still tell pcm to turn the fans on right? My heater inside doesn't work and the a/c should probably blow colder, but I know my freon levels are correct.

What else could be causing this issue? I am so frustrated with this, and the worst part is that I live in Houston, so the outside temp isn't helping at all. Any and all advice is much appreciated

Was going to flush mine out and replace, but wanted to use the same type. I've read that brown/amber hyd fluid, ATF, or even brake fluid could be used but neither should be mixed.
Wondered if anyone knew for sure what was in it to start with.
