Madhammer/GMMG LT1 Car

Madhammer/GMMG LT1 Car
Since I don't see any recent threads, might as well make one! I recently received a good amount of cash, and I think it may be time to upgrade my "welded in" Magnaflow muffler for a GMMG catback. I was considering Borla, but I hear GMMG is way better, and Borla is a lot more expensive. To me that's a no-brainer!
Before I order a new system, I was curious if anyone still knows if Madhammer is making the catback, or if they stopped and just left their website up. I also hear that I need '98-'02 hangers for the system, and I'm not sure if that is included or not. If I don't have to get rid of my stock tips, I wouldn't mind saving a little cash and not ordering their tips, but I'm guessing the new system will have larger diameter tailpipes and my stock ones won't fit. The large oval tips are nice, but not $200 nice to me, and the 45 cut tips are too small and don't seem to fit the 4th gen style as well.
Another option I would consider is possibly CME tips and a valance, so information on that would be helpful also.
If anyone has any info on the system, it would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance,
Nick

Re: Madhammer/GMMG LT1 Car
Hey Nickster, I purchased a Madhammer system October 2013. They still make them, and I think the guy's name is Gary who fabricates them. You can just order the catback system without tips if you want. That's what I did. I found a set of Corsa clone stainless tips on Ebay for just under $100. They ship the hangers you need with the system, and a good exhaust shop can install it no problem. I am very pleased with the quality, looks, and sound. I considered the Borla route also, but decided on Madhammer based on the reviews and the price. I think it's the best of both worlds. You can keep it reasonably quite below 2000 rpm, but turn up the volume quickly as you climb the rev range. No drone either. Great setup!

No, I didn't get it yet. I'm most likely going to wait until next year if I pull the trigger. I do go to college, so money is not something I can just throw around at the moment!

Re: Madhammer/GMMG LT1 Car
I'm running MAC mids, Random Technology cat, GMMG catback and I love it. The sound gets compliments all time. Until this summer I had a Magnaflow cat which flows about 100 cfm less than the Random Tech (but is still high-flow and much less expensive) and the system sounded more muffled. Now it almost sounds like a straight pipe.

I have kooks long tubes into a catted (soon to be non catted) y-pipe into the GMMG catback and I love the sound. To me its alittle quiet with the cats so that's why I got a non catted y-pipe. Either way you will love the sound of the GMMG!

Re: Madhammer/GMMG LT1 Car
Well, the next mod is actually going to be the GMMG/Madhammer. The money I had went to some nice staggered ZR1s for the car. Now that it has the look, it needs a little bit more sound! Hopefully I'll get a little extra Christmas money to get the GMMG.... Being in college allows for about one expensive mod per year
