just ordered this set up from lmperformance

and now i'm thinking if it was the right choice to make or not. i've heard numerous times that longtubes are better, but where i live i still need to pass emissions and stuff like that, so i went for the Mac Mids. i see a lot of people with them though, so i know they're not bad. is the difference between these and the longtubes a lot? or just a little? or is this just a waste of money?

Nothing wrong with mids, plenty of people are running them on higher horsepower motors. If you have emissions regulations to satisfy, then that makes the mids a better choice in my opinion.

yea, thanks for the info. i was sure of my choice like a week ago, but now that i actually went through with it i was kinda iffy. i'm not going for a drag car right now, just a daily driver with that little extra bit of power and i think these will benefit just how i want them

do the cats really take away a noticable amount of power? i heard someone say 5 hp less for keeping the cat, would 2 = 10 hp? or how does that work? i got 2 cats instead of 1 because thats how my car came, and the cats in general to pass emissions. should i just modify the cats in anyway to just appear as if they are there? or keep it how it is with a minimal power decrease? what should i do...

Frankly, catalytic converters are much more efficient now then years ago. The power loss with them is very small. Judging from the y-pipe in the picture in the link you posted, it looks like those are high flow cats anyhow so I would be even less worried about potential power loss.
