LT Header Question

I just bought a 97 SS, 6-speed, stock everything. 2OTL exhaust and I would like to keep that exhaust and get LT headers for it. I was just wondering what LT headers would be best for me? I am a newbie to 4th gens so bare with me

Re: LT Header Question

I've run Hooker on both of my LT1's. They work great for me, fit and install easy, nice and light. Pacesetter is popular as well as Jethot. Kooks are kinda pricey, but are stainless. If you need/desire ground clearance get some midlengths like RKsport or AS&M. You want 1 3/4" primaries.

I see people buying ebay heads but it seems they are hit or miss with fitment and weld/flange quality.

Re: LT Header Question

Up north if you drive winters, SS is the way to go. Ceramic Coating saves wears and eventually only goes for 1-3 years of driving before they start flaking under the car.

Re: LT Header Question

Powersource has a good point about stainless steel. It's hard to beat LPP for the price, though it looks like they aren't currently in production. Though I'm sure you can pick up a set if you watch the classifieds.

Yea I wont be driving it in winter. Just in the summer. But thanks for the input! I think I am gunna go with either hooker or pacesetter.

Re: LT Header Question

I don't drive winters either and my headers took a beating underneath. Rain, different story, so may be the reason.

My new exhaust is totally stainless from front to back.

Here's a clip of my '97 SS with Pacesetters, 3" ORY, and the factory 2OTL catback. Should give you a pretty good idea what to expect.
