Longtubes and Loudmouth

When I had my shorties and the loudmouth it sounded awesome and wasn't super loud. Put the longtubes and ORY on with the loudmouth today...
It sounds crazy aggressive and doesn't sound bad, theres no popping or anything, but jesus christ its loud.
Guess I'll be saving for a true dual or something. I want to be able to drive the car at night without waking up the neighborhood. I'll try and post a video tomorrow...

Video of the LTs and SLP

Probably just going to just end up replacing the loudmouth resonator with a muffler... any personal opinions on what would sound good with the pacesetters?

Re: Longtubes and Loudmouth

Nobody has any opinions on what would sound good with the long tubes? I've been looking at replacing the resonator with a borla xr 1, but I don't know if that would quiet it down enough. Any thoughts?

Car has le2/cc306, pacesetter LT, no cats, and want to keep costs down by staying with the SLP piping.

Did you take some time to look through the 'stickies' at the top of this forum?

94Form,

Have you figured out what to replace the resonator with yet? I am in the exact same boat, I love the exhaust getting out the rear and reducing the interior resonance some, but it's waaaaaaay loud. I was thinking about the flowmaster pro series laminar flow muffler. I just wonder if it will fit since it's a 6" diameter case, but they have them in 12" and 16" lengths, so that might help out. Re: Longtubes and Loudmouth

I looked around a little bit for what I would be able to replace the resonator with, but the new Y pipe ended up being a few inches more in towards the drive shaft vs where the old Y pipe was. So my options are very limited on what I can fit in there. I might have been able to fit a round XR 1 (5 inch diameter) in there but didn't want to chance it on not quieting it down enough. So now I'm going to just end up going with an X pipe and some ProXS dumped at the axles.
