Help Quick

I just bought Pacesetter long tube headers and two extensions for the 02 sensors. I was told that I can buy resistors at radio shack for the other two and it works perfect. If this is true please let me know and also can somebody tell me exactly what type of resistor and maybe a pic of it. Thanks alot,

Re: Help Quick

No, you can't use a simple resistor to eliminate the rear O2 sensors. You need an "O2 sim", that plugs into the harness. They are getting harder to find, because they are illegal, but you can usually find them on ebay.

Or, simply have someone "tune out" the rear O2 sensors.

Re: Help Quick

I'm not sure if not running rear o2 sensors will throw a code, but I've been told they don't do anything to the fuel mixture, so removing them will just throw a light and not cause any driveability issues.

I had mine tuned out a few years back along with lower kick on temps, !CAGS, etc so I was ready to go when it came time to do the headers.

Re: Help Quick

Yes, they set codes if removed. Will not affect the way the engine runs. The purpose of the "sims" is to provide a signal that simulates the presence of a working after-cat O2 sensor.
