Guys with LT do you have problem...

going over speed bumps. How much ground clearance did you guys lose with LT. I scraped my sfcs once going over speed bump and I didn't think that they hang that low, everyone says that LT are the lowest part of their car. So do you guys have trouble getting around with them.

I have Kooks long tubes on my stock height Z and they only scrape on the BIGGEST speed bumps. There is a shopping mall locally that has the really huge ones. None of the speed bumps on any public streets I've been on drag.

Re: Guys with LT do you have problem...

Any lowering springs? I scraped mine about 3 times while I still had sportline springs (~2" drop) in the front, but I didn't have sportlines on very long before swapping out for the stock SS suspension (~3/4" drop) and I was really careful.

Pacesetter LTs into a custom 3" ORY

That's what I am afraid of the most, we overhere have some very steep enteries to gas stations, stores, ect and there are speed bumps everywhere, or maybe its just me because I do have ground effects and getting in and out can sometimes be tricky. I've already lost one air dam to this problem.

No, its not lowered but I would love if it was. I might put on WS6 springs out of 97 TA that my friend has just sitting around. I am also looking at getting Pacesetter LTs.

That's a huge drop, LOL.

I wouldn't expect much issue at stock ride height to a inch drop. If your looking at getting more than a 1.25" drop that's when I'd start looking at shorty headers.

Pacesetter LTs are one of the better LTs in terms of ground clearance, they tuck up pretty nice.

Thanks for the pictures, I really wanted to see what they look like under the car. It looks like you got about 3 inches of ground clearance from your lowest point, does that sound about right?

Probably, those pictures are from when I had sportlines. I couldn't roll a "stubby" beer bottle under the collectors (though if you do v-bands that will save you a bit of ground clearance) but I think I may've been able to roll a normal long neck bottle under it.

Here's a picture of the bottle:

Didn't bother me much since I was planning on going back to the SLP/Bilstein my car was originally optioned with.

I'm lowered 1.25" and I'll scrape if I'm not careful on bigger speed bumps. 90% of the time I can go over without scraping if I go on an angle. All-in-all, they are totally worth it. Get em!

This. I've never scraped the Kooks on my LT1 car (hit the turn downs a few times when I had them). That car is lowered and will clear all but the tallest bumps if you're careful. My LS1 car with stock manifolds and Y pipe will bang an overzealous ant hill though.
