Electric Cut-Out

I had an HPE electric cut out on my car for 2 years and loved it. Unfortunately, while driving home from the track, with the dump closed and cruising at about 60mph, the welds on the cap let go, and the whole thing came apart. I pulled over when I heard my exhaust get loud, and found the motor hanging by a wire, the gears blown out, and the movable plate covering the exhaust gone. That was the second time the motor had come apart on the thing, but this time it was destroyed! It wasn't to long after that, that the car was stored for 3 years.

Now, I'm bringing it back to life with a new 383 and 15 psi procharged boost. I've done the initial tuning, and the car obviously has a lot of pressure coming through the exhaust. I think the old cut out broke, because I held the button down to close longer than it took the motor to close every time, to ensure that it was fully closed. I'm leaning toward the QTP cut out with the digital display so I always know the exact position and don't over torque the thing via the controls. Does anybody have experience any with QTP, or have any opinions? Thanks in advance.

Re: Electric Cut-Out

I dont have any experience with QTP cutouts but my son and I bought the SS hood from Barry's Camaro (the owner of QTP) and he is a real stand up guy. He seems to know his stuff and I am sure he would make it right if something broke. Good luck
