Re: yank ss3200 or ss3600?

'wot from a dead stop on the street',evidently you want to accelerate faster/better.
more torque/power = better acceleration.
instead of starting out at 1800rpm with the stock convertor, the SS3600 will immediately jump to 3600rpm thereby putting you in a higher power part of the 'power band',more power=less traction. you HAVE to compensate for the more power with suspension and tires. If you don't want less traction then stay exactly as you are.

which nittos,I brought up 3 in my post ?

Re: yank ss3200 or ss3600?

I posted 3 Nitto 555,so I'll assume your asking about the standard 555.
First they're not a wet weather tire(I have my Goodrich T/A SSs' for that),they're a dry weather tire. But hitting rain on the interstates on trips from Ohio to Florida they were OK. I use the standard 555s' on the front, but when I did have them on the rear, acceleration traction was very good. Without burning them off on the rear,3-5 years can be gotten.

3-5 years isnt bad at all. Can be ss3600 be driven daily on street tires until i get a set of radials? Thats really the main concern because I cant do all at once unless i can sell my 275 street tires. I planned on getting lca's also.

Re: yank ss3200 or ss3600?

You have to understand.... you can drive it on the street just like a normal car. The trick is not to put the happy pedal on the floor instantaneously, or with hard street tires you may light the tires. Post #7 explained it very clearly. It's not like you have a ticking time bomb that's going to sit there and rev like crazy and go nowhere... and then suddenly break the tires loose.

I have a ~3,800 stall that will flash to 5,000 rpm when the 300-shot of nitrous hits. But I drive the car on the street, and it's just like described above.... light throttle, just like stock.... more throttle, and the rpm will jump up a bit more than stock. I've got 4.11 gears, and even with 315 BFG Drag Radials it will light the tires on straight motor (500HP) with full throttle in 1st or 2nd. I really can't even think about running nitrous on the street.

Re: yank ss3200 or ss3600?

Good help from everyone. So the ss3600 over the 3200 for my daily driver lt1? The 3200 would also cause tractions problems too probably. I'll just have to adjust that's all.

You will get used to it real quick, and after a short time wont even realize it's not stock.
