Unhooking BTSI doesn't help
I've read a number of posts on here about unhooking the BTSI when your shifter gets stuck, which is the case with mine. I have to pull the rod a bit to get the shifter to move either way. I unhooked my electrical connector and unlike what all other posts indicate, this didn't help. I guess I could unhook that rod altogether, but anybody know what the real problem is? thanks.

Re: Unhooking BTSI doesn't help
Sorry, been trying to add that info since I first posted this and I keep getting messages saying I wasn't logged in. Hmmm. Anyway i'm in now, 1994 Z28, LT1. Thanks for any ideas.
If it helps, I can pull the rod on the BTSI to move it to Drive, then move it all the way down to Low as normal. I can move it back to Drive from Low normally, then need to pull the rod again to get it back to Park. Thanks.

The 94 factory manual indicates that the solenoid blocks the shifter when it is energized. If unplugging it does not release the block, it would have to be a mechanical problem.

Re: Unhooking BTSI doesn't help
Problem solved. I had taken the shifter **** off to remove the cover plate to get to the little bulb for the shift indicator. I put the **** back on to drive it to the auto parts store to buy that bulb. I didn't put the clip back in the **** knowing I would be taking it back out 10 minutes later. When I went to go to the auto parts store that's when I noticed the problem. Turns out all it was was that I didn't push the **** down on the shifter handle far enough. And that's all it was. Geeeeesh!
Thanks for the responses though, much appreciated! Gonna see if I can find some threads about ready mount coil over shocks now.

For rear coil overs, consider these:
Adjustable Rear Coil Over Kits | 1993-1997 F-Body Camaro & Firebird
To add a signature:
-Left click on "UserCP" on the task bar at the top of every page.
-on the drop down, left click on "Edit Signature"
-in the Edit Signature screen, fill in the info you want displayed.
There is a limit on size.... it will tell you if you have too much.
