transmission shudder? misfire?

Had a lot of problems with the tranny last year... Would never shift in wot ended up going through it and rebuilding it. The culprit was the pump. Then the opti died.

Fast forward to this year... Replaced the opti and has an awful shudder... Feels like a misfire. End up going through the whole ignition system... Opti, wires, plugs, coil, ICM, test injectors, and wiring... Unplug O2 sensors and it still shudders/misfires?

Only does it once it warms up and the torque converter locks up under light load... Take your foot of the gas and it stops... More gas and it stops...

The torque converter is new as well.

Kind of at a loss... Torque converter lock up solenoid? Torque converter? Something else?

Re: transmission shudder? misfire?

This is a common sign of a cracked lock up piston or burnt clutch in the converter. Where did you get the converter from?

Re: transmission shudder? misfire?

When you say piston do you mean tcc valve? We put in the sonnax transmission upgrades which includes this valve and spring.

Could this be fuel pump maybe, dying?

Re: transmission shudder? misfire?

Rev Maxx converters are notorious for failures. Not to mention the fact that they're very inefficient.
The converter itself has a lock up clutch in it. The piston is what applies the clutch. We see many failures with cheap converters in both cracked pustons and premature clutch failure.

Re: transmission shudder? misfire?

Not torque converter.... Put a known working converter in today and didn't solve the problem. Checked the u-joints when i took out the drive shaft. Feels like a misfire. Perhaps we got a bad referbished opti??? We got the opti from american powerhouse???
