transmission lines

My transmission lines are leaking at the transmission. Just installed new Trans and I cannot get them to stop leaking.

Where can I get new cooler lines?

Can you buy fittings and use rubber hose?

Re: transmission lines

Transmission fluid will break down the material that most rubber hoses are made from.

Re: transmission lines

Are they leaking between the case and brass fittings or fittings to lines?

Re: transmission lines

You can go to your parts store and buy 2 2' sections of line that already have the correct fittings to screw into the trans and 2 compression fittings. Cut the ends off your originals, and bend the new ones to match. Then, just use the compression fittings to mate the repair ends on the original lines.

Had the lines not leaking but now I notice they are leaking again. Who knows how long.....I haven't noticed fluid on the ground until now.

Also now I see fluid slowly running down the converter. Any idea what would cause this?

This transmission was just rebuilt and a new converter,.I will be a little upset if I have to drop it again because of a seal.

Spliced a new piece on and put new fitting in the shell, doesn't seem to be leaking now.

Re: transmission lines

Rock auto sells the lines pre-bent for oem fit. We bought 2000ish (I think) lines and changed the connectors to the snap fit ones, makes putting in and taking out a hell of a lot easier.

Have a 94z28.
