Arrow Torque Converter

I just finally had my engine rebuilt with a couple bolt ons and .030 over flat top pistons and LT4 Hot Cam Kit and Im going to run 3.73 gears so now what torque converter would you recommend? What rpm and brand do you think? Please get back to me. I was thinking about a 3000 TCI but its $500 at Summit, what do you think?

Spend a few extra bucks and get a www.edgeracingconverters.com that is actually built to fit your car rather than one size fits all.

Best you will hear about the small diameter TCIs is they are hit and miss.

No one (normally) will recommend you to buy a TCI converter.

Vigilante
Yank

Them two are know as the best, there is also some other one's out there such as edge, and circle D.

I have a Vigi 3500. Great street manners and still a little tight if you ask me but that's good for when the nitrous goes on.

I've heard good things about the Edge converters if you want one that doesn't cost as much as the Vigi or Yank. You do get what you pay for with the more popular brand though. I loved the fact that on the Vigi I ordered a certain stall, tried it out, then sent it back in to get the free restall after I saw that the 3000 stall was just too tight for my liking.

My brother ran a TCI 2800 rated stall for a long time and it netted him a lot of 1.9 - 2.0 60' times on sticky tires with the stock untouched motor.

In a 4L60E??? Have you ever compared it to something else? LOTS of times folks are happy because they don't know any better. Like just this week a guy went balistic over people not praising his choice in engine setup, said it was awesome, goes to the track and runs BADLY. He didn't know any better till he MEASURED the performance.

Yank and Vig cost a lot more than Edge because of billet covers that cost a couple hundred to machine. Then again I have seen no issues with the stamped covers so the billet is usually overkill. Both definetely good converters.

Have to understand why you are paying extra for something NOT just look at price.
