McLeod Street Twin LT1 ?'s

Re: McLeod Street Twin LT1 ?'s
I found a properly set up Street Twin engagement to be no different than the stock LT1 clutch. The only differences were a slightly higher pedal pressure and the ability to repeatedly absorb 6,000 RPM, high HP clutch dumps on full slicks. Mine was a very early design, which required a sleeve to be installed in the stock slave cylinder, and about 0.10" to be machined off the pivot ball. I think they did away with those modifications when they came out with the adjustable master cylinder.

Re: McLeod Street Twin LT1 ?'s
thanks Fred
I have heard reports it is a on/off switch and others, like yours, that advise smooth engagement. I suspect proper install was the reason why many experience normal engagement. Stack height needs to be spot on with the discs.
yeah the early ones did require a slave spacer and grinding down fork stud but that has been revised with a adj MC

Re: McLeod Street Twin LT1 ?'s
The Street Twin disks are solid hub disks, they are not like the factory one with the springs in between the hub and disk to absorb torsional shock. It's still a smooth engagement clutch, but when it locks up it's locked up!
I had to machine the pivot down on mine, the first start broke teeth off the ring gear when the fork hit the pressure plate bolts.
