lt4 v.s lt1 disc and throw out bearing question
Ok i work at oreilly auto parts im about due for a new clutch so i ordered the lt4 clutch kit and the lt1 clutch kit, the pressure plates are the same (lt4 non ribbed design) but the throw out bearings are different and clutch disc's are different
the lt4 disc is solid un sprung and the throw out bearing looks square
the lt1 disc is sprung and the throw out bearing looks like a tear drop
will the lt4 throw out bearing work, and its the solid disc a good thing or a bad thing?
i want a pretty sharp engagement.

Yes it will work. I run one on mine and many aftermarket clutches come with the square TOB. it is technically the Corvette bearing BTW.
The flange and body on the square TOB are a bit more robust compared to the tear drop TOB.

ahh i dont have it off the top of my head
but tell them to look up a clutch for a 1996 corvette and it will list the lt4 clutch and pressure plate assembly.
its expensive though, but still cheaper than a spec, or centerforce
and it comes with a lt4 pressure plate, corvette throw out bearing, and solid, unsprung disc

I did that and they say it is not on their books.....they are also morons. I have used the 'I have a 96 Vette' many times.....they look out the door at my 94 Z and tell me I couldn't have an LT4 in there.....it won't work.

Here is the clutch they have listed on their website for a 96 Corvette.

Why not just order it from Jason Cromer?
