I Hope it's not the Tranny

Allrighty then, I recently did a LE2 set up on my car before which I had absolutly no tranny problems what so ever. After getting the car to idle decent and learning that i needed to adjust the TPS ( the GOLEN method found here on a search) I have it set at .65 close to their suggested .67. It seemed after the car got warm I started missing the 2/3 shift at wot. I don't like bouncing off the rev limiter at all. yesterday i thought i'd see if it would do it again & it missed the 1/2 shift at WOT. It seems to shift fine at normal driving and slightly heavy accelleration but WOT it isn't makin the shift. Does anyone have a clue as to what is going on? If it maybe something i can tinker with I would like to get it right today on my day off work. Should I set the TPS like the manual says, Is the Torque converter going bad? Oh one other thing I had the trans rebuilt about 4yrs ago but that was less than 4000mi.

Was the trans rebuilt to factory spec or was it beefed up? Wouldn't hurt to try and get the TPS set exactly to the suggested amount. Just before my trans went it would shift just fine at 5900-6000 on the money. Then when it went it started doing 6200-ish on 1-2 shift. Then when it was really gone it'd slip and hang there for a solid half second or more. Then it didn't shift 1-2 anymore. If it is your transmission there's not much you can do except wait for it to die/get another. Sorry to hear it's having problems.

yeah it was built, extra clutches, planetairies, super servo ECT... It just seems a little premature if it is faliure cuz it was only puttin out stock power most of the time since it was rebuilt.

Have you had any tuning done to eliminate the high stall problems some call ''stall wall'' that often happens with some LT1 autos with 3k plus converters? Your new motor setup could be making enough more hp to be causing your 3k stall to be acting like a larger stall and causing it to shift wrong.

No, I am not really fimilliar with this "stall wall "you speak of. I did ask Bryan or Keith from Pcmforless What my shift points were set at because of my problem & they said it was most likely clutch packs failing. Maybe so, I just don't think with my tranny only haveing 4K since the rebuild and less than 1k with the new set up that that is it. I could be wrong, This stall wall problem is the kind of answer i'm looking for.

Do a search for Stall wall on this board. Make sure to go back some years.

Today I took a ride and as usual i'm puttin along in Dirive, got a red light & decide to do a hole shot. Again it missed the 1/2 shift and I cursed and went on my way. I stopped and had a ciggerette, got back in the car and decided to put it in Overdrive and cruise. Well I decided to try another hole shot and it made the shift. Awesome, I did it three more times on my ride and it made that shift and all the others everytime. Why does it make the shift in OD and not when I cruise in D ? Am I on to something here?

just a little surprized that i haven't had a response in 24hrs. I tried it again today and it worked fine 3 out of 4 times in Overdrive.
