Good sources for driveshafts

Here's the places I can personally recommend, just FYI. All three make excellent products at fair prices. Dynotech has very fast service.

Feel free to add your experiences.

Denny's Driveshaft http://www.dennysdriveshaft.com/

Dynotech Engineering http://www.dynotechengineering.com/

Spohn Performance http://www.spohn.net/

Cleveland Pick-a-Part I believe they can be found on ebay. They sell F-body, GTO, and Vette stuff online. Mostly 93+. They sell LS1 DS all the time. I bought my LS1 Front Brakes from them. They provided good product and service.

A1 Driveline in Baltimore, MD. Don't know the number, but they make great 3" steel driveshafts with the stronger no external grease fitting u-joints...Also get them thru www.fbodycentral.com...

I have one, works great. If I had to complain, it'd be that it didn't show up looking as spiffy as the picture on their site. It's spray painted black with no logo.

Big deal? Not in the least if it does its intended job well and I'd say it does.

Re: Good sources for driveshafts

I have also heard good things about Dennysdriveshafts. Is the ls1 driveshaft far superior to the lt1? Or would it be more worth the time to buy one from dennys or something.

Re: Good sources for driveshafts

If you are using sticky tires on a prepped surface (i.e. the track) you should have a steel driveshaft, not aluminum.

Re: Good sources for driveshafts

I picked up a used Dennys nitrous ready shaft recently and I have not installed it yet but it looks 10 times better than the 1LE shaft I have in the car now. Its BEEFY thats for sure, I don,t think I will ever come close to breakin that thing.
Very high quality product.

Re: Good sources for driveshafts

I used Denny to make my DS, last year. After converting to a 12 bolt Moser unit, the DS typically requires work to shorten it, might as well replace it.

I ordered the 3" steel unit, going by the measurement required I got a peice that was cut to fit perfect. I had the recommeded 1/2" slip travel. VERY impressed the work.

Only isssue was is that he is busy and I had to wait, but I understand, excellent craftmanship

Re: Good sources for driveshafts

I'm using a Spohn Extreme Duty 3" CM made for a short tail TH400.
It fit well and is very smooth at 125mph and 6000 rpm. Just what I paid for.

Dealt with Denny for a custom steel shaft for my LT1/T56/280Z ($300), he was very helpful and asked that I contact him after use (service after the sale ) to see how it was working. They used my adpter flange for the Datsun differential with no problem.

The shaft seems to work great, but I have been sidelined with an oil leak and another swap.
