Forward gears work, i drove it home but reverse feels like its not there. I read about the reverse lockout solenoid. but some details on how it led to this.

for some time now when leaving Reverse to go to 1st, the stick will sometimes disengage completely and dead stick. just non-connected and wiggling around loose. somehow it would find 1st eventually and be good. This time it happened again - throw from R to 1st and disconnect.

After about 30 seconds of trying (longest yet) it found the forward gears but reverse is just not there. it also felt like 1 to 4 were shifted over to the right and 5 and 6 seemed too much to the right also and R just a smooth space with no hint of engaging. and thats how it is now.

it is a 19 year old original T56 and 110K and i plan on keeping her. New clutch at 60K that was about 10 years ago. new slave about 7 years ago. B&M Ripper. Any suggestions please? I know its time for a rebuild but is there anything simple i can do for the next week or two until i can talk to some good trans shops? its been major grinding 2-3 under full power and that is irritating as heck
