I just recently picked up an 82 Z28 from a friend for a great price. Many things already done, but my list of upgrades is already piling. The stock 305 has been replaced by a 350 with a big cam, aluminum intake and a quadrajunk carb(one of the first upgrades), the rear end was replaced with 3.73 gears and all new from wheel to wheel...my issue starts at the trans. It shifts fine and works good, but I have intentions of making a 383 stroker, keeping the 3.73s and getting a 3000 stall...but I don't know what trans will the better to use...it has the th200 now, but don't think it will hold up to the power I plan to throw its way (shooting for the 500+ range). Any opinions are welcome, but I do want educated information as well.

Also, the car seems to fall on its face in second and third gear at WOT...pulls nice and hard all through first to 5500 when I shift but then seems to struggle for fuel or something at more than half throttle after. There is also a hesitation when I first mash it. I am assuming carb issues, but was told the carb was rebuilt locally. Thanks for any advice/opinions.
