I have a 94 camaro z28 with the 4l60e. It has roughly 240,000 miles. My transmission has developed an issue and i havent found much info searching. When the problem began i would get what seemed like a slipping 2nd gear at wot after the 1-2 shift. It seemed like it shifted and mph would still climb but the engine would bounce of the limiter. If i let of the gas it would shift to 3rd fine. Under light acceleration i didnt notice any issues with 2nd. I changed the fluid and filter and 2nd gear started getting worse i would get slippage and a shuddering at moderate throttle. This eventually worsened to no 2nd gear it would jus free rev. On my way home after that happened 1st gear also did the same thing. Thinking ill probably do a rebuild with the high mileage i put some trans x in it and by the time i got home 1st and 2nd felt great again. The next day i went to take it for a drive to see if it was still working and it seemed like park and reverse were binding but all forward gears worked better then i ever remember them working.
I do still plan on a rebuild but im curious as to what might cause these symptoms. Engine is stock except cat delete and air pump delete and it has 2.73 rear end gears.

if trans x helped then its probably just old and worn out at 240k miles you certainly have gotten a very full life out of it,

The transmission is being rebuilt right now. I was just curious as to what part being worn out would cause those symptoms. Im sure the guy doing the rebuild can tell me i was just hoping to learn a little.
