Ok, on Monday I will be dropping off my 2002 Camaro Z28 Convertible 5.7 with only 49000 miles on it at the dealership to have them investigate some noise issues I'm having. Just out of curousity I would like to hear from you what I can expect to hear from my mechanic.

Here is the issue: Once I crank the car she sounds normal, only after putting her into gear do I hear the noise a lot of knocking, and it actually sounds like a diesel engine. Once the engine has reached normal operating temp the sound/noise is gone.

Also, while driving as I make a turn into another street (left or right) I notice just as I'm getting out of the turn and accelerate a bit more my transmission seems to hesitate and then all of a sudden jump into gear.

Transmission fluid has been checked and is good. No bad smell, no discolorization, correct level.

I'm not too mechanically inclined, but I hope I've described it enough to get some opinions as to what i can expect to hear from my mechanic.
