Question 2000 Z28 AT shifting to higher gears around 1500 rpm, 25 mph ugh!

Guys,

Brand new here and not knowledgable. I have a 2000 Z28, 4:10 gears, AT with a shift kit, cam not stock (but don't know what)

During normal driving, say when I'm slowing down a bit to take a turn at a corner or even driving in my neighborhood, once I put my foot back on the accelerator, the car shifts up and I can hear the awful grinding. It happens when I'm around 25mph with rpm's between 1500 and 2000. WOT is does just fine shifting. I have to hit the accelerator a bit hard to get the RPM's up quickly to make it shift back down.

any help is appreciated!
