wondering what M6 stock lt1 cars run in the 1/4. . . . . .
I just got my 1997 trans am, m6, 90k. Love it, its a really strong car doesn't seem to have anything that isn't perfect. It was a one owner car I'm the second, its stock as stock gets and I don't plan on doing anything other than bolt ons but I was wondering what kind of times you guys have ran and your rpm shift points. . . . . . I plan on doing CAI, LT's, some sort of cat back, 1.6rr's, and a tune threw pcm4less or something. So any advice on aftermarket for this stuff I'm all ears.

What's "PB" stand for, and wow that's really fast! What kind of 60' time did you have on your 13.o pass? And what cai did u run?

It was a high 1.9X 60' . It was a freakishly good DA day, for Texas at least.
I had an SLP CAI. Same as the GMPP. If they still make that thing.
Sounds like you need some seafoam or something... Or it's just tired. A full bolt on LT1 running 12's is nothing new.

I can only see 12's from a bolt on LT1 if it has drag radials, some suspension, and brutal disregard for the 10bolt and clutch.

His car doesn't need Seafoam it needs to be run in Houston in the winter. But few can afford to make that haul just for a great timeslip.

My '94 was running 13.5-13.6 at 100-101 with shortie headers (no cat back), K&N filter, drag radials, and a short throw shifter in average weather conditions. MPH is generally about power and ET is more about launching and shifting with a standard transmission. I remember that many of the more experienced racers were impressed the car would break 100 with just those simple modifications.

Mine has a K&N FIPK and a Mac 2.5" y-pipe coming off the stock manifolds, with a gutted cat mated to a TSP Rumbler. Thats it for getting back some of the stock available power. Added a 12bolt w/3.73 gears for the use of 26" slicks. Added some adjustable LCA's and relocation brackets. Replaced the stock torque arm with an adjustable Midwest Chassis TA. Put in a great Spec4 clutch and short shifter. Removed the stock front swaybar and added some adjustable coil-overs up front. The results of this is high 12's @ 107mph.
No magic to it, the power is there in stock form, the whole package is not there however. With weight removal, a tune and more gear, the stock unopened LT1 motor can be a mid12 package. Full bolt-ons = easy 11's.

12's aren't that common for 6 speed LT1's. 11's are even more rare. Hell, I only know of 2 or 3 11 second bolt-on cars.
Majority of the full bolt-on 6 speed Lt1's are somewhere in the low to mid 13's. Not saying it can't be done but it takes ALOT of time and effort to see those kinds of times.
FWIW, my car with a K&N filter in the stock ram air box, airfoil, and LCA's ran 14.2 @ 99 mph. Purchased an HPP and raised the rev limiter to 6200 rpm's and instantly ran a 13.8 @ 102. With the addition of 4.10's and relocation brackets and LOTS of practice I finally got it down to a 13.2 @ 107.
When it comes to modding the car I would get what power you have to the ground before I would add more.

My 'bird has 144,000 miles on the unopened stock LT1 motor. 12's are possible by just replacing inferior parts that GM put on the car.
