Wink My awsome new 1/4 time!

Well I went to the track Monday with my Nitto's to see what 60' I could pull. The temp. was in the 90's and humidity was high (don't know %) First couple of runs I heated them up a little and brake stalled the car to about 1200 and left the line in D. With results:
New best New best again
60' 1.80 60' 1.739
1/8 8.5 1/8 8.4
MPH 80.57 MPH 80.835
1/4 13.381 1/4 13.278
MPH 102.759 MPH 103.04

Then I tried shifting it myself(everone kept telling me to). So I do a really good burnout, line up and put it in 1. I also decided to leave off idle and just hammer it off the line. So when the lights came down I hammer it and ti hooked like a ****, shifted 1-2 felt great, 2-3 ok a little weak. Then I crossed the line in top of 3rd. Overall the run felt great. I was thinking a 13.1 time. Then I got to the time slip shack and picked up my time I couldn't believe it! I was STOKED!
60' ?(it didn't show but had to be about a 1.6 or 1.5)
1/8 8.091
MPH 80.332
1/4 12.948
MPH 102.268

I tried shifting it on 2 other runs after that and hit the rev limiter or something on 2-3 shift because it just started popping and wouldn't shift so I let out. I figured my tranny was starting to slip and I had better leave well enough alone and call it a day.

Those are good times. Do you have a converter? I f not you will have a mid 12 sec car with one. I guaruntee you did not run a 1.5 60' though. My car runs 1.74 60', 12.50@107mph and on a 150shot of n20 a 1.63 60',11.61@117mph so it takes alot more power than you are making to run 1.5's. Later Clint

Nope no coverter. I'm installing one this weekend Midwest 3000 w/ 2.1 str. Hopefully it will make it more consistant. One thing I can't figure out is why my MPH is so low. Anyone know how I can get mph up with more bolt-on's?

MPH is a HP thing, need to find a way of adding more HP to get the MPH to come up.

As for the converter helping you out, well you are pulling really good 60' times with the current setup that you have. Are you sure you don't have an upgraded the converter already? I just never seen 1.7's on the stock converter yet, maybe so but I have not seen it.

The STR rating is just a little above stock which I believe stock is 1.8? The higher the STR rating the more punch you will have off the line.

Let us know how the converter helped you out and good luck.
