New to racing cars
Hi I'm new to racing cars and not sure what my car will run it is a 1992 Z28 with a 5.7 TPI with a auto stock rear end. But I'm going to have a 410 post rear end put in soon. What else should I have done to my trans to help it out. I'm also looking to have a B&M shifter installed to help with the shifts.

Re: New to racing cars
The first thing I would do is take it to the track to establish a performance baseline. In order to evaluate any changes in performance you need a starting point.
What I have found is a set of drag radials is one of the best initial investments as it makes launching a lot easier regardless of the performance level of the vehicle. Having a consistent and reliable launch is integral to comparing the value of any modifications to the car.
Also, since you are now to racing, becoming familiar with your local track, their policies and procedures, and going through tech inspection is an important first step to becoming a proficient driver. Do not worry about looking good or being cool. Ask questions, any questions, as it makes everything easier for everyone.
Above all, have fun!

Save the money on a shifter. Leave it in D or 3 and let it shift itself. First mod should be a set of drag radials as stated. Get some seat time and get the you and the car consistant before making changes.
