Post Hoping for new best in this heat...

Lately the car has not been hooking worth a flip on the ET streets mainly because they are worn out. So I finally ordered some real slicks, 26x10x15 Hoosiers and they are installed on some Weld draglites. I also just got done installing some Hooker LT's and have a Drgas X-pipe installed into a dual exhaust setup.

Took the car out last Friday night on street tires to get some log runs and see how the exhaust setup worked. I know traction was going to be a issue in fact I could not nail it until I was about 100ft out and it still broken the tires loose big time after that. The end result was the best pass was 12.95@107.60, thats one a 2.1 60'time. The exhaust setup gained me alot so far.

The true test will be this Tuesday night to test the new slicks. My best in this heat so far has been 12.50@107 and that's with a 1.8 60' time. The best the car has ran is in signature in a 65 degree day.

Cool

Ken, I'm shooting for a new best this Friday night as well. Don't be suprised if it gets wobbly in the rear towards the 1000ft mark. I haven't decided yet to take the ET Streets or just run the Nitto's. I'm more concerned with MPH as I know this fall once it starts cooling down the Et's will come down as well. I'm hoping for 11.8-11.9@114 this year. I figure if I can go 12.2 in the heat Friday then my goal will be met soon enough.Well good luck and let us know how you make out,
Fred

Ellis - You got mail!

Pretty good night, the air was not good at all, but the car ran good.

I made about 7 runs on the new slicks, had to find what the car wanted. The car ran the best time on about 11psi tire pressure. 12.40@108
That's with the air temp at 90 degrees and the humidty about 67%, the baro was at 29.86
I can't wait for the cooler season to begin.

The car ran its best when we cooled it down for 20 minutes, most of the other runs where virtually no cool downs at all.

I also found out the car with these slicks loves the stall being stalled up to about 2500-2600. It launches way better than the old ET Streets did. I don't have any 60' times yet, that's on another night when the give time slips out. This was just times on the board.
