Hooking up the T/A! Launch pics inside.

Well I made it out to the track yesterday to try out my new Competition engineering shocks and anew pair of slicks. On the first pass the car left really hard and picked up the front tires about a foot off the track. But only managed a 1.500 60'. So I tightened up my front shocks 3 clicks and it left better with only about 6-8inches under the tires and a 1.48 60'. For some reason the car was running really rich, looked like a diesel with a chip smoking black and I plan on bringing it to the dyno to do some fine tuning. It still managed to run 10.93@126mph on the first pass and the second pass, 10.88@126MPH. I tired to go make another pass and when i let off the brake it snapped the driveshaft clean off. It was a stock LS1 shaft so it wasn't made for the power I was throwing at it for sure. Here is a launch pic from yesterday. later Clint

Those look like fun launches, you still have the stock sway bar and what, air bags?

I want to see pictures of the carnage

Now we just need to get some video's of track passes, I'd even settle for a little video of the car terrorizing the street

Nice job. One question though. Does the back usually sit that low or is it squatting?

Sorry you will have to wait on the videos but it shouldn't be long before I go back to the track and get some videos on the spray. I am running a Wolfe racecraft antirollbar now but I did run airbags before. The carnage is not what youll would expect, just snapped the shaft clean at the weld and it looks like you could put the pieces back together, weld it and be back at it but I wouldn't try that. LOL

Al, it does sit low in the back but it looks like it is squatting just a little. What can I do to fix that?

I already have an airbag in the rear but unhooked it when i put the Wolfe antiroll. I guess I may need to try and put some air in the bag to see if it helps the 60' times. Thanks

Does anybody have a stock steel driveshaft lying around that is in good shape? I would be willing to spend a few dollars on a stock LT1 shaft for now until I get a custom built chromemoly one. LMK Thanks Clint

Do you have LCA relocation brackets? They will generally push the back end up, forcing the tires against the asphalt. Add limiters in the front, and you can get it to launch like this:

Look at the separation in the video:

First launch, after the car was set up by Steve Spohn in his shop.

I don't have relocation brackets but I do have limiters. I didn't think I would need to mess with the limiters until I turned on the n2o. Just when I tightened up the front shocks 3 clicks it went from 1' off the ground to about 6". When i start tuning the n2o I will definately set the limiters to stop it from coming up too high. later

Do you have adjustable rear shocks? I had to set my QA1s at 6L and 7R. When mine squats it hooks good on launch then spins a little about 15ft out. Stopped the squat and stopped the spin.

Well i bought the chaep Comp engineering 3way shocks and I have them at 50/50 so there is not much I can do except maybe put some air in the airbag. Thanks Clint
