I'm running this Thurs. night so i'll let you know some times. The converter was looser with the 3.23's. The car pulls really good down low. The converter is a 2.5 STR and typically LT1's are low rpm tq. kings.

These gears tightened the converter up (which i expected). I'm expecting my car to be an 1/8th mile performer better than 1/4 per say. But I love driving my car now. I've got the shifts so hard that i break the tires loose at 1/3 throttle accelerating.

I drive my car everyday and IMO is perfectly streetable.
cool...yea let me know what times you run, I am very curious. I am thinking between a 3400-3600 converter for mine, not to sure about the STR, cause I don't really know too much what it is. Only thing that sucks on mine is the fact that when I had my car tuned I had it converted to an OBD1 pcm, and I hear that people have problems with stalls over 3200 with OBD1...something like the car wont shift right on the 1-2 or 2-3, I forget which one it is. Good luck on Thursday, are you gonna run on street tires or drag radials? I had a helluva time hooking on street tires even when I had 2.73 gears in the car.

What weight reductions do you have or recommend? My buddy is letting me borrow his ET Streets and I want to try and hit 12's. Last time I ran 13.6 @ 104.42 with a 2.4 60' minus 3.73's, Zexel posi, LCA, CSR E-WP, ASP Pulley, Ram Air, Full weight. Thanks.

My full list of weight reductions are as follows........No spare tire/jack, no rear seats, front swaybar removed, air and egr equipment removed, traction control stuff removed, lighter 25lb battery and thats it for weight I believe. I also have all the little cheap mods like, tb bypass, air foil, trick flow elbow, and I made a little scoop below my cai to help get some more cold air in.
When I go to the track I also occasionally take a little ice with me and ice the intake down a little to get the temps down.

The optima battery actually weighs 5 pounds more than the stock battery. The battery I have is an Odyssey dry cell battery and weighs about 10 pounds less than the stocker. I know it isn't much, but less weight on the front end is crucial to help lift the front end up more on the launch.

Edit: I see your in Ohio, what track do you usually run at?

Well I dont get out to the track much. When I was stock I went to Quaker City, its only about 4 minutes from my house. But I went to Dragway 42 last time with some buddies and had much more fun. I'll probably go to 42 again since Quaker is closed for the season. Hmm, didnt know that about the weight. I'd really like to do bumper supports , A/C, and carpet but I dont want to go too extreme since its a DD.

Marky, I

I'll be running ET street radials Thurs. night at 20 psi. prolly. I go to get them where they'll spin a little bit at our track. I'm hoping for 13.1...but we'll see.

Re: Finally got a 12 second timeslip!!!

Well...new best tonight

60 ft-1/8@mph-1/4@mph

old time with a cutout and street tires...

2.051-8.878@80.55-13.808@99.314

new time with converter and 3.73's and MT ET Street

1.778-8.367@80.949-13.227@100.925
1.744-8.34@80.616-13.23@100.536
1.768-8.357@81.005-13.220@100.775

I'm happy as hell considering its a slow-*** LT1 with a converter, cutout and gears.

I saw that 1/8th mile time and KNEW it was going to be a 12..but alas...i guess that's what i get for having an LT1 with a 2.5str stall..haha

BTW ET street radials are the junk..hook very good..i had these tires at 24 psi.
