Bracket racing the Formula again

Car's been sitting on the trailer for almost 2 years. Charged the battery and had a little problem starting up and running. After a bit it fired up and came back to life. I let it settle down and keep it running until all the temps came up to normal. Taking it to a T&T friday night to see if I still know how to get it down the track. If everything is good will hit the brackets on Saturday. Sitting in the drivers seat really felt great. A few win lights will feel even better. Car is a '95 Formula, 383LT1, T-400, 4.11 Moser rear.

Re: Bracket racing the Formula again

Must be nice to live where the tracks are open year round . Good to hear it started. Mine has been sitting idle in the garage for a couple years, and I'm afraid to even try.

Not a lot of action here any more... but do post the results.

Re: Bracket racing the Formula again

Our 2014 points season starts Dec 21st. Hope to get some seat time before "opening" day. The bird usually runs 12.0 - 11.50 depending on conditions. I like having the slower car in bracket.

Re: Bracket racing the Formula again

Took it out last night for a T&T. Old gas is making the car run a bit ruff and the brakes need replacing as it is a little hard to stage and hold on the line. Drivers lack of seat time showed as well. All runs were deep staged, front tires 45lbs and the rear at 20lbs.

run 1 launch at 1800 RPM 7:13pm
RT .049
60' 1.844
1/8 7.739
MPH 90.58

run 2 dropped launch rpm by 200 7:26 pm
RT .070
60' 1.7821
1/8 7.705
MPH 89.66

run 3 increased launch rpm by 400 7:36 pm
RT .024
60' 1.814
1/8 7.75
MPH 89.71

Packed it in for the night. Seems that hot lapping doesn't really effect the car. New brakes and rotors will be done next week.
