best way to adjust QA1's for drag strip?

Re: best way to adjust QA1's for drag strip?
Although I wouldn't be able to help you with how to adjust them for a given set up, but I can tell you we might need more information.
How is your car set up?
What does the car weigh? Front and back?
What is your instance center?
How do you launch? RPM?
Slicks?
Does the car roll on launch?
How much power does the car have?
What do you want it to do on launch?
etc...

Judging from the info in your sig a good starting point for you would be set the fronts on 1 and the rears on 7 (with slicks) 4 (with street tires) 6 (drag radials)

If you only get 2.3 60ft (horrible) get some real DRs or slicks, you should be getting 1.8 on decent tires with all the go fast parts you have, the shocks aren't your biggest problem.Try launching about 1500 rpm lower also.

Re: best way to adjust QA1's for drag strip?
The last time I checked my DR's were real, I just went outside and touched them to make sure they were....lol. The problem is not the DR's, it was the tune, I now have a mail order tune from Madz28 and with the old tune the timming was too advanced down in the lower RPM and MAP range.
The car would fall flat on its face no matter what RPM I launched at, I have not ran the car with the new tune yet. I hope the car will come out of the hole and not bog!
Hope to atleast run a low 12 and get a 1.9 to 1.8 60'

Okay that makes more sense, even with my bone stock car on original tires(17 years ago) I was getting 2.0 60s.
Our cars are similar and on DRs(hoosier/BFG/MT) 60 would be about 1.74-1.78 with the t56 lauching at 1500-1800.
With the 4L60e and slicks got even better.
If you want pictures set front to 3-4 if you want great 60 set front to 10-12.
Rear can't help you, still running stock.

I disagree. To transfer weight you need the front to be loose especially on a lower hp car such as his. Setting the fronts tight will end up allowing the rear to un-load or hop after launch.

Hello !
I found that if I set my fronts to 1 when the car came back down I hit the wheelwells (nicely shattered) or when you hit the brakes hard on a short shutdown track the tires would scrape again.
In my case 3-4 is soft and gives a nice lift(maybe my springs are getting soft).
Mine gets great traction(on a well prepped track)at higher setting, maybe its due to my old rear shocks.

I have the QA1's and pull mid 1.2 60fts. Trust me on this.

You are a demi god take my word for it , I trust you.
I was speaking from my experience to a car that seems pretty similar to mine, couldn't figure the 2.3 60 with all his goodies, didn't state the tune problem.
I think i still have the original shocks in back, that might help my car sit down so well,,,,lol

That squatting motion from the stock shocks causes lost initial planting power and lost forward momentum.

Hello !!
My 60 fts are down to 1.44(very well prepped track)to 1.48-.49 on an average track.
I thought of changing but since it is my DD I thought I should at least have one original part on it!!!! LOL.

Very nice considering stock rear shocks. Change them out and get into the 1.3's!
